When you start out in menswear, you’ll learn a lot of rules. It’s meant to be encouraging and guiding but upon looking back, we find that most things are largely negative! So many “dont’s” and “nevers”.  As a result, most guys tend to feel boxed in with their style which totally goes against what we believe here at Craftsman Clothing.  


So we’re here to tell you when you can totally break the rules. Long story short, it just relies on context.

Black Friday and Cyber Monday are right around the corner and with it come the plethora of deals, discounts, and long queues.  We find it funny that this day of greed comes right before the holidays, where our mind is supposed to be on loved ones rather than trying to cop something at the deepest discount before it’s sold out.  With our latest piece on Investment Clothing, we are reminded that a great brand shouldn’t succumb to this pressure and neither should you. Investment Clothing: Buy Less, Buy Better

It’s no surprise that we love menswear, and the reasons are countless. For example, there are so many niches from ivy style to tailoring and vintage milsurp; you can even mix and match to your heart’s content.  On the psychological side, it’s been reported many times that dressing well (not necessarily more formally) makes you more confident. And we definitely like to look good. In any case, menswear a pretty great hobby that can involve many parts of your life, resulting in crafting personal style to having a profound effect on your surroundings. However, this definitely comes with a few caveats, like a cluttered closet or lack of coin in the wallet!

The Diverse and Dominating Style of Bruce Lee

It’s pretty impossible to deny the badassery of Bruce Lee.  Most obviously, he’s one of the most prolific and influential martial artists of all time, paving the way for it not only to be represented in pop culture but as a serious physical art form in the west.  As a whole, he really helped redefine Asian masculinity in the world and even bridged the gap between Western and Eastern culture through his short, yet influential life. As his original Hong Kong home was recently demolished, we find our thoughts drawn to the late Kung Fu master.  And while we do live his films, it’s no surprise that these thoughts to drift into ones about menswear.
